Before travelling to Spain in December 2022 I decided to stay in the Travelodge Hotel at Glasgow Airport.
This is one of five hotels located at the airport and is ideally located for those who are arriving late at night, or like me, have an early morning flight.
As travellers start planning their easter and summer getaways I figured I should share with you my opinions on this hotel, and if I would recommend spending a night here before or after your flight.

Booking Process
I booked my stay via the Travelodge website (I would always recommend booking with the hotel directly wherever possible).
During this stage I was offered a choice of four different prices, all of these offered different levels of flexibility and included items. I selected the cheapest rate called “Saver Rate” which only included a room, if I wanted breakfast I would need to pay for it at the hotel.
After booking you receive an e-mail with your booking information and can request this to be sent via SMS as well. At this stage I did not need to do anything else until I arrived at the hotel.
Arriving at the Hotel
I arrived at Glasgow Airport by bus which dropped me outside of the terminal building. However, I must make you aware of an issue with the directions provided by Google maps for a walking route between the airport and hotel.
Two walking routes will be offered;
- via Caledonia Way West
- via Caledonia Way East (this is the one you want!)
When you have selected this path follow it until you reach the BP fuel station. At this point cross over the road and walk through the car park onto Sanderling Road. Once you exit the car park follow the provided route by Google.

Note: I have asked Glasgow Airport if we can work together to provide a guide on their website.

Upon entering the hotel, the reception desk is on your left. I was served immediatley by a very friendly member of staff who asked for my name. I was then given my key and was given the directions to my room. The entire process took less than 60 seconds.
The Room
My room was on the ground floor. Upon arriving my room it was stocked with a kettle, tea and coffee, a television and basic toiletries.

A menu for dinner and breakfast was provided incase I wanted to purchase anything to eat.
The bathroom provided everything you would expect from a budget hotel and was clean when I arrived.

The bed was comfortable for a night, however, if you like pillows that are solid or firm you might struggle to get comfortable as the provided pillows are very soft. On both sides of the bed is a lamp and a small table to put your stuff on. One downside to the layout of the room is there are no plugs next to the bed, meaning you need to charge your devices away from the bed.
I did not hear any noises from the rooms around me or the hallway outside, meaning you should be able to sleep well if you are a light sleeper. I should also point out that although it is an airport hotel, you cannot hear most of the planes from your room, you might hear some of the turboprop aircraft operated by Aer Lingus, Flybe & Loganair.
Checking Out
I was checking out of the hotel at 0535 to ensure I arrived at the airport on time. To check out simply place your key in the slot at reception and walk out. If you have a large amount of baggage the staff at the reception can organise a way for you to reach the terminal.
The whole process takes less than five seconds to complete and is contact free.
My Final Thoughts
Every hotel review I publish will use the same categories to rate the overall experience, with each item being scored out of five.
I have awarded Travelodge Glasgow Airport
Value for Money – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Location – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Friendliness of Staff – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Quality of Room – ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really convenient location for those flying and the walls clearly do a good job reducing aeroplane noise. Thanks for the interesting review. Have a great day, and feel free to check out any of my hotel reviews also 🙂
