Britain’s largest leisure carrier Jet2.com has further expanded its winter flying programme from both its Scottish bases.

The airline has announced yet more capacity from both Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports in response to continued high demand from passengers and travel agencies, with this winter set to be the largest the airline has ever offered from Scotland.

From Edinburgh the airline has announced a new destination, as well as extra flights on a number of key routes;

  • NEW Christmas Market route to Tallinn, Estonia – an Exclusive route to the airline from not just Edinburgh but from Scotland as a whole.
  • Additional flight to Lanzarote on December 23rd, December 30th and January 6th
  • Additional flights to Malaga on December 23rd, December 30th and January 6th as well as additional flights in March 2026
  • Additional flights to Faro on December 23rd, 28th, 30th alongside January 4th and 6th

Speaking on the growth announced across the UK (including Edinburgh) Steve Heapy, the CEO of Jet2.com said the following;

We are seeing continued demand for our award-winning flights and holidays and with Winter 25/26 looking so popular, we are in the position to respond with a massively expanded programme from across nine of our UK airport bases. As well as offering three brand-new routes, we are also putting additional capacity on sale to popular destinations and extending the winter season. The expansion means we are giving customers even more choice and flexibility when it comes to enjoying some Winter Sun, a city break, a Christmas Market or hitting the slopes. Such an expansion would not be possible without customers choosing to travel with us in huge numbers, so I would like to sincerely thank our customers and independent travel agent partners for their continued support. We look forward to taking lots of happy holidaymakers on their well-deserved holidays next winter and showcasing our award-winning credentials.”

Moving to Glasgow Airport the airline has announced a new route, as well as extra capacity on a number of routes from the airport;

  • NEW Christmas Market flights to Budapest, Hungary operating twice weekly.
  • Additional Christmas Market flights to Berlin.
  • Additional weekly flight to Agadir operating all winter.
  • Additional flights to Malaga on November 5th, 8th, 12th and 15th, alongside additional flights over Christmas and New Year operating on December 20th, 27th and January 3rd.
  • Additional flights to Faro on October 28th as well as November 4th, 11th and 18th.
  • Additional flights to Malta operating every Monday in November and March

Jet2 will also expand capacity on its routes from Glasgow to Berlin, Krakow, Prague and Vienna through the use of larger Airbus A321 aircraft on these routes during December, adding an additional 43 seats to every flight.

Speaking on the announcement of additional flights from Glasgow Airport, Christ Tibbett, Aero Director at AGS Airports said the following;

We are thrilled to see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays significantly expand its Winter Sun programme from Glasgow Airport for Winter 25/26.

“This expansion provides our passengers with even more options and flexibility, but also underscores the strong partnership we have with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays and their understanding that people who reside in Scotland’s largest city want to travel internationally from their local airport.

“The additional capacity to Alicante, Faro, Malaga and Malta will undoubtedly be welcomed by holidaymakers looking to escape the Scottish winter weather for sunnier climbs. We look forward to continue working with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays to expand its presence in Glasgow further and support the delivery of its award-winning travel experience to our customers.

Also commenting on the additional flights from Glasgow Airport was Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com who commented;

We are seeing continued demand for our award-winning flights and holidays and with Winter 25/26 looking so popular, we are in the position to respond with a massively expanded programme from Glasgow Airport. The extra capacity we have put on sale to popular winter sun destinations means we are giving customers even more choice and flexibility when it comes to getting away next winter.
