easyJet Announces Winter Expansion from Scotland

Seeing as both Aberdeen and Edinburgh Airports made a complete mess of announcing their new routes – I’ll do it!

easyJet is the largest airline in Scotland by based aircraft and operates flights from 4 Scottish Airports – Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness – although don’t worry about the last two, there is nothing to focus on here.

Details of new routes and season extensions to routes is organised by airport in alphabetical order, starting with Aberdeen.

Aberdeen Airport

easyJet will launch its 4th route from Aberdeen this October, with a twice weekly service to Paris Charles De Gaulle, restoring the former Air France route that operated until the pandemic.

Flights will depart every Monday and Friday and will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft operated by easyJet Europe from October 27th

Monday

EJU4643 will depart Paris at 1145 arriving into Aberdeen at 1245

EJU4644 will depart Aberdeen at 1315 and arrive into Paris at 1610

Friday

EJU4643 will depart Paris at 1230 arriving into Aberdeen at 1330

EJU4644 will depart Aberdeen at 1410 and arrive into Paris at 1705

Speaking on the announcement of this route, Chris Tibbett, Aero Direct at AGS Airports (Aberdeen, Glasgow & Southampton) said;

“We’re thrilled that easyJet will launch this long-awaited route between Aberdeen and Paris Charles de Gaulle. This is a connection the city and wider region have been calling for, and we’re proud to have worked closely with easyJet to make it a reality.  The new service will provide vital links for both business and leisure travellers, with timings perfect for that romantic weekend city break or Disneyland Paris adventure.

“Paris becomes the carrier’s fourth destination from Aberdeen, joining its existing route network to London Gatwick, London Luton and Geneva. We look forward to seeing the first flight launch this October.”

Furthermore, Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager also commented on the launch of this route;

“We’re delighted to be offering yet another fantastic new route, providing even more choice for our customers at Aberdeen. With flights and holidays now available on even more routes for the winter, we’re providing greater direct connectivity for customers and offering great value for money, always aiming to make travel easy.”

easyJet also operates flights from Aberdeen to London Gatwick, London Luton and Geneva.

I should also highlight that at the time of writing, no flights for this new route are on sale between January 2nd and January 30th.

Edinburgh Airport

easyJet will launch 3 new routes from Edinburgh this winter, with flights to Barcelona, Belfast City and Innsbruck all commencing throughout the winter season.

Barcelona

Flights will depart every Monday and Friday and will be operated by Airbus A319 aircraft operated by easyJet Europe from October 27th

Monday

EJU7199 will depart Barcelona at 1735 arriving into Edinburgh at 1940

EJU7200 will depart Edinburgh at 2015 and arrive into Barcelona at 2355

Friday

EJU7199 will depart Barcelona at 0700 arriving into Edinburgh at 0905

EJU7200 will depart Edinburgh at 0935 and arrive into Barcelona at 1315

It should be noted that both Ryanair and Vueling already operate flights on this route, and easyJet also provides a Barcelona service from Glasgow.

Belfast City

Flights will operate 5x per week, with no flights on Tuesday or Saturday. All flights will be operated by easyJet UK using Airbus A320 aircraft. Flights on this route will commence October 26th.

Monday

EZY343 will depart Edinburgh at 1150 and arrive into Belfast City at 1245

EZY344 will depart Belfast City at 1315 and arrive into Edinburgh at 1405

Wednesday

EZY343 will depart Edinburgh at 0955 and arrive into Belfast City at 1050

EZY344 will depart Belfast City at 1120 and arrive into Edinburgh at 1210

Thursday

EZY343 will depart Edinburgh at 1155 and arrive into Belfast City at 1250

EZY344 will depart Belfast City at 1320 and arrive into Edinburgh at 1410

Friday

EZY343 will depart Edinburgh at 1630 and arrive into Belfast City at 1725

EZY344 will depart Belfast City at 1755 and arrive into Edinburgh at 1845

Sunday

EZY343 will depart Edinburgh at 1250 and arrive into Belfast City at 1345

EZY344 will depart Belfast City at 1415 and arrive into Edinburgh at 1505

Belfast City is already served by Aer Lingus from Edinburgh, as well as services to Belfast International operated by easyJet and Ryanair, and services from City of Derry Airport operated by easyJet.

easyJet also has a Belfast City route from Glasgow, as well as Aer Lingus also flying from Glasgow.

Innsbruck

Of all the routes announced Innsbruck has the latest start date, with flights on this route commencing December 7th, operated by easyJet UK Airbus A320 aircraft. easyJet become the third airline on this route, after Jet2 and TUI.

Sunday

EZY3307 will depart Edinburgh at 0705 and arrive in Innsbruck at 1020

EZY3308 will depart Innsbruck at 1100 and arrive back in Edinburgh at 1230

Speaking on the announcement of these new routes, Jonny Macneal, who is the Head of Aviation for Edinburgh Airport said the following;

“We’re really looking forward to offering passengers even more choice this winter as easyJet adds Belfast City, Barcelona and Innsbruck to their existing schedule.

“Whether you are chasing winter sun, vibrant culture or an alpine adventure, these destinations tick all the boxes…and we’d recommend doing all three!”

Malaga

easyJet adds yet another Spanish destination to its Edinburgh portfolio with Malaga joining the network operating 2x week every Tuesday and Saturday from October 28th.

Tuesday

EZY3219 will depart Edinburgh at 1140 and arrive into Malaga at 1610

EZY3220 will depart Malaga at 1650 and arrive into Edinburgh at 1910

Saturday

EZY3219 will depart Edinburgh at 0700 and arrive into Malaga at 1135

EZY3220 will depart Malaga at 1210 and arrive into Edinburgh at 1430

In addition to these new routes, the airline has also announced that it will extend its Athens, Bordeaux, Enfidha, Milan Linate & Zurich routes to operate all Winter, as well as adding flights to Nice in November, December, February and March.

Glasgow Airport

easyJet will launch a limited series of flights between Glasgow and Rome Fiumicino for February and March 2026 operating 3x per week. Flights will depart Scotland’s largest city every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the schedule for these flights is below;

  • EZY3185 Glasgow to Rome Fiumicino will depart at 0630 and arrive at 1030
  • EZY3186 Rome Fiumicino to Glasgow will depart at 1105 and arrive at 1330

Speaking on the announcement of these flights, Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager said;

It’s fantastic to be able to offer our customers another exciting route from Glasgow to Rome – whether heading off to explore the Eternal City’s rich history and iconic landmarks or simply looking to enjoy world-class cuisine and vibrant Italian culture.

“By expanding our network in Scotland, we’re continuing to enhance connectivity for our customers who choose easyJet for our unrivalled route network, great value fares, and friendly service. We look forward to welcoming them on board.”

Furthermore, Chris Tibbett, Airline Director at AGS added;

Rome is a fantastic destination and we’re confident that this increased capacity will be well received by passengers. We’ll continue to support our airline partners in making these routes a success.

I should also point out that the airline will not operate its Glasgow to Berlin route this winter either based on current schedules.
