As part of my summer break I travelled to Canada for another solo adventure.
During this trip I visited Iceland, Toronto, Calgary and Kelowna as part of a eleven day adventure across the Atlantic.
As part of my brand I believe it is important to provide an overview of how much my travels cost so you know how much to save so you can book your own adventure.
Below is a breakdown of each of my costs and I share some tips on how I reduced my costs while in Calgary.
- Icelandair Glasgow to Toronto via Reykjavik £544.79
- Return Coach ticket Reykjavik Airport to City £41
- 1 Night hotel stay in Reykjavik £108.75
- 2 Night hotel stay in Toronto £437.09
- Flair Airlines Toronto to Calgary £180.91
- 7 Night Airbnb in Calgary £452.84
- Lynx Air Calgary to Kelowna £33.30
- Flair Airlines Kelowna to Calgary £26.87
- Air Canada Calgary to Toronto £178.10
Therefore my total travel costs associated with this trip are £2003.65
Normally when I am on a trip like this I would fall into the trap of eating out for every meal, however, due to staying in an Airbnb and having a kitchen I decided to buy food and cook myself.
Assuming I ate out 2x day for those 8 days I would easily have spent over £100 on food, but doing this meant my bill was approximately £11, a great way to save money and get to live more like a local.
