Update as of 8th December 2023: Sharm El Sheikh will no longer operate in Summer 2024. Currently nothing has been announced in its place.

Last week TUI confirmed their summer 2024 schedule from Glasgow Airport, offering their customers even more choice on when to travel, alongside extra aircraft to support their growing Scottish presence.

TUI will fly to 23 destinations from Glasgow Airport next summer, and will extend the operation of two of their routes that are currently served this winter, making this TUI’s largest summer programme from the city.

Speaking about the announcement AGS Airports (who own Glasgow Airport), CCO Matt Hazelwood said the following, “TUI’s announcement is a hugely significant one for Glasgow as the airport continues to rebuild the connectivity our passengers deserve.

“TUI’s decision to base two additional aircraft next year will ensure Glasgow Airport continues to cement its reputation as Scotland’s go-to airport for overseas summer holidays.”

Flights to Sal, Cape Verde will operate weekly with departures every Friday throughout 2024.

Naples will also return to the TUI network next summer, with two flights per week operating on Monday and Friday, this service was suspended in summer 2023.

To support the expansion, TUI will base 5 aircraft in Glasgow, 4 will be 737’s like the one above.

To support this growth TUI will base 2 more aircraft in Glasgow, taking their total to five. These two new aircraft will provide customers with more than 180,00 additional seats next summer, and will also allow for a number of extra flights to customer favourite destinations.

The following destinations will see an increase in weekly departures when compared to summer 2023.

  • Antalya – Flights increase from 3 to 5 weekly
  • Enfidha – Flights increase from 1 to 2 weekly
  • Lanzarote – Flights increase from 2 to 3 weekly
  • Palma – Flights increase from 3 to 5 weekly
  • Reus – Flights increase from 3 to 4 weekly
  • Rhodes – Flights increase from 2 to 3 weekly
  • Tenerife – Flights increase from 3 to 5 weekly

It should be noted that TUI’s new planned flights from Glasgow to Kefalonia will now no longer be launched.

Commenting on the increase Andrew Flintham, the Managing Director of TUI said “Our customers want more flexibility and to be able to choose a departure airport that is close to home – and that is exactly what the new TUI 2024 summer programme has been designed to do.

“We want every one of our customers to be able to create a holiday as unique as they are – departure airport, destination and duration are all key components which come together to make the perfect TUI holiday.

“The 2024 programme will see extra flights departing from across the UK. Glasgow Airport will see a significant increase in flight seats offering more holidays to those living in the region.”
