Flixbus are to significant increase the number of services they operate from Glasgow Airport, with the operator set to increase their capacity from Scotland’s 2nd largest airport by 67% from November 23rd.
Daily departures between Glasgow Airport and Aberdeen will increase from 12 to 20 from November 23rd, with the company introducing an hourly service throughout most of the day. Glasgow Airport remains the only airport in Scotland that Flixbus serves directly.
Flixbus services on this route also stop at:
- Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station (cannot be booked to/from the airport)
- Stirling Castleview Park and Ride
- Perth Broxden Park and Ride
- Dundee
This capacity increase appears to have been made possible by the cancellation of Flixbus’ service UK90 between Glasgow and Edinburgh, with the vehicles from that service being redeployed elsewhere.
I reviewed this service in May 2025 shortly after it launched, but what’s changed?
My two biggest gripes with this service included a lack of frequency (obviously now solved), and a lack of advertising from the airport. This service has still not been posted on any of the airports social media platforms, nor did it have a press release issued when it was announced last year.
In addition, it would be nice if the airport could move the smoking area away from the stance used by Flixbus, it’s not a particularly nice experience waiting at stance 10 for the service to board, and why should users of the service have to sacrifice to benefit a smoking area (don’t smoke it’s bad for you)!
Flixbus remains the 4th largest public transport operator at the airport, behind First, McGill’s and Citylink.
