easyJet has announced a new Christmas market service from Glasgow to Krakow, becoming the third airline to operate flights between the two cities this winter, alongside Ryanair and Jet2.com
Flights will operate Mondays and Fridays from November 13th until January 4th, and are operated by Glasgow based Airbus A320 aircraft with 186 seats.

Evolution of the Glasgow to Krakow Market
The Glasgow to Krakow options available have rapidly expanded in the last few years, with weekly capacity increasing by up to 98.19% this season when compared to just two years ago.
Jet2 has remained flat on the route, remaining consistent with a twice weekly Boeing 737-800 service on Monday and Friday, with Ryanair rapidly increasing capacity through more weekly departures, additional Christmas flights which would be included in this graph, and larger 737-8-200 aircraft operating more flights, increasing available seats per departure.
easyJet’s decision to introduce a twice weekly, highly seasonal service appears to be in response to the additional market created by Ryanair through their extra seasonal flying. To a Glasgow passenger, the easyJet departure times are much more friendly, with a 1410 departure compared to 2030 with Ryanair – although the latter will also be targeting more budget conscious passengers, as well as the large Polish/Ukrainian population in the Glasgow area.

Other notable changes to the airlines winter schedule at Glasgow Airport include the extension of Rome, Lisbon, Porto and Sharm El Sheikh flights to year round operation, increased season length on flights to Malta, and additional capacity on routes including Southampton, Paris, Lanzarote and Alicante.
