Discover Airlines, the Lufthansa Groups leisure airline has announced its first ever routes to Scotland, with services from Frankfurt to Glasgow and Inverness, as well as a service from Munich to Glasgow during the summer also being announced today.
Glasgow Regains Two German Routes
Glasgow regains a direct link to Frankfurt, with 6 weekly services between the two cities for the first time since June 2026. Service will start on March 29th 2027.

Flights will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats, which should add approximately 63,000 seats.
Flights to Munich will operate up to twice per week from May 16th 2027, with flights operating Thursday and Sunday.

Lufthansa Group Network From Glasgow
As of the time of writing Glasgow is host to four routes with the Lufthansa Group, with Eurowings, Edelweiss and Discover all operating flights from the city.

Inverness Gains Another New Route
Discover also announced a new summer seasonal route from Frankfurt, this time to Inverness, operating once weekly between June 19th 2027 and September 11th 2027.
Flights will depart Frankfurt at 1340, arriving into Inverness at 1445.
Flights will depart Inverness at 1530 arriving into Frankfurt at 1830.
This is the airlines first time serving Inverness, and is the cities first ever direct link to the city.
This new route also marks the first time the Lufthansa Group will have served the city since 2019, when Edelweiss operated a Zurich route.
This new service will add 6,840 seats to/from Inverness, and Discover becomes the airports 7th carrier, joining Aer Lingus, BA, easyJet, KLM, Loganair and TUI.

In 2024 507,665 German tourists visited Scotland, spending 3,592,012 million nights here, that’s an average of 7.1 nights per person.
