Industry Comments

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said:

“We’re delighted to be offering 18 new routes and package holidays for summer 2027 which shows our commitment to providing customers across the UK with more choice from their local airport.

“Our Spanish network is greatly expanding with six new routes from the UK including Girona for the first time, and we’re also further strengthening our presence in Scotland, where we’re already the largest airline, with six new routes from Aberdeen and Edinburgh Airports.”

“Whether customers are planning a summer beach holiday, a city break or a chance to explore somewhere new, there’s never been a better time to book a flight or package holiday with easyJet.”

Stephanie Wear, Chief Commercial Officer at Edinburgh Airport, said:

“The introduction of Scotland’s first direct route to Tivat is particularly exciting as it opens up Montenegro to passengers for the first time. As one of Europe’s increasingly popular destinations, it’s great to give passengers easier access to everything Montenegro has to offer.

“Alongside new services to Bilbao, Hamburg and Rome Fiumicino – all well-known for their rich history and culture – these routes add even more variety to our European network and further expand the choice on offer at Scotland’s busiest airport.”

Jonathan Ford, Portfolio Manager at AGS Airports, said:

“We’re delighted to see easyJet continue to expand its network from Aberdeen with the introduction of routes to Barcelona and Mallorca. The launch of a direct service to Barcelona is particularly exciting, marking the first time the city has been served directly from Aberdeen and opening up a fantastic new destination for travellers across the north-east of Scotland.

“Both Barcelona and Mallorca are proven favourites with UK holidaymakers, and we have no doubt these routes will prove hugely popular with passengers looking for more choice and convenient access to some of Europe’s most sought-after destinations.

“The continued growth of easyJet’s offering at Aberdeen is a strong vote of confidence in the market and further strengthens the range of international connectivity available from our airport.”
