easyJet, the largest airline in Scotland by seats available, has just announced two more routes joining their network in Summer 2027.
The airline has announced a new daily service between Edinburgh and Southampton, joining their successful Glasgow-Southampton route, albeit as schedules stand just now they will be competing with Loganair on this new service.
In Glasgow the airline has added two weeks of flying to the Isle of Man for the TT Races, with 6 departures between the two destinations available.
Full details of the new routes are as follows:
Edinburgh to Southampton
easyJet will commence flights on March 28th with a single daily flight between the two cities. All flights will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft with 186 seats.
Flight times vary depending on the time of the season, so rather than including them all in this article I encourage you to check the easyJet app or website for the dates you are interested in.

Passenger numbers on this route have lagged significantly behind 2019 levels since the pandemic, partially driven by changes in domestic working practices, with remote working and video calls reducing the need for domestic business travel in the UK. It should however also be considered that the high fares charged by Loganair are a deterrent to some passengers.
It should also be remembered when easyJet launched their Glasgow-Southampton service in 2023 that Loganair ended their own flights on the route within 8 months, it remains to be seen if history will repeat itself at the other end of the M8.
Edinburgh Airport has not published a press release about this new route on its corporate website that I could find. However, the airport’s head of aviation, Lynsey Burns, welcomed the addition of this new service in a comment to The Herald.

Glasgow to Isle of Man
The Isle of Man returns to the Glasgow Airport network for a very limited time, with easyJet operating 6 return flights to the island from Glasgow for the TT races.
Flights will operate between May 31st and June 13th operating Monday, Friday and Sunday.
- Glasgow to Isle of Man flights on Monday leave at 1250 and arrive at 1335
- Isle of Man to Glasgow flights on Monday leave at 1410 and arrive at 1455
- Glasgow to Isle of Man flights on Friday leave at 1100 and arrive at 1145
- Isle of Man to Glasgow flights on Friday leave at 1220 and arrive at 1305
- Glasgow to Isle of Man flights on Sunday leave at 1225 and arrive at 1310
- Isle of Man to Glasgow flights on Sunday leave at 1345 and arrive at 1430
This marks the first time the two destinations have been connected since 2019.
Some Other New Routes
In addition to the two Scottish routes announced today, Southampton will also see flights to Malaga in Spain and La Rochelle in France operating in Summer 2027.
Commenting on the announcement of these new routes (and Edinburgh), Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said:
“We’re delighted to be launching three new routes from Southampton Airport for summer 2027, continuing to provide customers in the south with more choice and connectivity from their local airport.”
Chris Tibbett, Executive Director, Commercial Aviation and Marketing at Southampton Airport, said:
“We welcome easyJet’s investment in expanding its Southampton network from Summer 2027 with the introduction of three new routes to Edinburgh, La Rochelle and Malaga.“
“The launch of a new daily service between Southampton and Edinburgh is particularly welcome, strengthening vital links between Scotland and England’s south coast.”

In addition to these new routes, easyJet will also operate special TT flights from Birmingham for the first time, as well as bringing back its limited time flights from London Luton.
